Cross Country!

It was a sunny but windy afternoon, and we went ahead and had our school cross country, We all dressed up in our house colors and represented our houses.

The afternoon bell went off so we all lined up on the court. On the court there were chairs with our years and genders on it. Shivering and shaking we tried to sit in straight lines.

Miss Vaafusuaga and Mr Jacobson told us all that we are ready to start! I was terrified, the year 1 boys stood up in their lines and walked over to the starting line in their ready positions. Mr Burt had a little contraption that he smacked together to make a sound for the racers to know that it is time to start!

“Off they went!” sprinting through the field around the paddock and back up to the school. They finished in a flash. It was time for the girls to race. Hours go by and it was time for the year 8 boys, I wished my brother good luck as he went to the start line.

They stated race, and my brother was in coming last. I thought he was going to lose, but then the race ends and my brother comes first, I was so excited. A few minutes after that my brothers friend Iisa came second and his other friend Damien came third. I was proud of him.

A few more minutes flew past and it was time for the year 8 girls, I was excited but nervous at the same time, I had butterflies.
Mr Burt said “On your marks” we all stood in a straight line “Get set” one leg went back “GO!” we ran down the track , I was coming first for a while but them 2 people overtook me they were Kevine and Laila, I was trying my best to overtake them, another person went pass, then another.

We went through the second time and one more person went pass me. The finish time was about 100 meters away. The teachers told me to sprint. I sprinted my fastest. People were cheering for me as I ran past Rebekah, as I went through the finish line I was told I came 5th. I was pretty happy that I came on the top 10.

Duffy!

This Afternoon, we all had to sit on the hall for a special assembly.
I was the Duffy Assembly, when we all settled down Mrs Nua introduced a lady.

The ladies name was Tasha, she walked up in front of the whole assembly and said hi,
music began to to start and Tasha started to sing, she was so awesome at singing, I didn't really want her to stop!
She was that awesome. When her singing was over she told us a little story.
she said " When I was your age I said" "On Monday's I wanted to be a Vet and help animals, then on Tuesdays I want to be a Lawyer, on Wednesdays I wanted to be a Teacher on Thursdays I  wanted to be a Singer and on Fridays I wanted to be an Actress."

The she told us that she found out that she was allergic to animals.
Then we went back to class and got out two Duffy books.

I choose these two books ......

Most Memorable moment for 2015

Year 8 camp!_

This year the year 8 students got to go on an exciting camp.
the only down side of camp was the looong trip up to the camp site,
people were sick I was too.
But beside that it was the best camp I have ever gone to.

Once the bus stopped we saw our campsite, it was soo cool.
There was a volleyball net in the sand pit, there was a big building where our cabins were and there was the kitchen and the eating area.

From the bottom of the bus we took our bags and sleeping bags and went around looking for our cabins.
I was lucky my cabin mates and I, Sarah, Paige and Mary got to have the “Family Room” it was the best room out of them all, it almost looked luxury. Because the other people had to be in cabins with concrete floors and walls.

As soon as we set up our beds and put our things away we got to go outside and play around as it was sunny and hot. We just played around and looked at things, once we went to the back of the camp site there was a humongous zip line, everyone was stunned and excited to go on it.

Days went by of excitement and then it was our last day,
we packed our bags and put it on the bus.
It was time to go back to school and to our families.

Miss Universe 2015 - Top 20

Yesterday was the 1st of September and we had special visitors.
They where the top 20 Miss Universe New Zealand. They all had shirts that said "Keep calm and wear a Tiara" I thought that was cool. 3 of the girls stood up in front of us an gave a speech about themselves. One of them said they made a company of cleaning up New Zealand.

Once that was over all of the 20 girls split up in 5 different classes, in our class we had 4 girls called Hannah, Monique, Olivia and Sharne. They where all so kind,
On the table I was sitting on we were taking to a lovely lady named Olivia, she was blond and she was funny, he was taking about how bad she is at maths, she loves literacy more.

Sadly after a while I had to go home so I didn't get to be there for the rest.
